A SAMPLE HOUSEHOLD

Meet the Novaks of Oak Hollow.

A family of five on a big adventure: a new house, new schools, and two careers that never slow down. Here’s the Household AI Operating System we’d build for them, with AI as the trusty sidekick that spots trouble before it lands.

Their pick: Claude for AI and Google Workspace for files and calendar.

STEP 1 · SET YOUR RULES AND STANDARDS

First, the house rules.

Before anything gets connected, the parents decide what AI handles, what always stays with them, and where the lines are. It fits on one page, and everyone in the house gets a copy.

AI HANDLES

The family calendar, grocery lists, receipts, school forms, and party planning.

ALWAYS A PARENT’S CALL

Anything that gets sent, booked, or paid. Anything about the kids’ health or school.

GUARDRAILS

Training off. Each adult gets a private space. Kids’ accounts and devices stay off it. The house manager sees shared projects only.

STEP 2 · SET UP YOUR AI TOOL

Then we teach it the family.

One Claude account for the house, a wiki that tells it who everyone is, and the folders it reads from. Everything lives in their own Google Workspace.

Food. Youngest is nut-free. Taco Tuesday is non-negotiable.

Favorites. Family game night picks, go-to restaurants, the farmers market stand.

STEP 3 · AUTOMATE YOUR LIFE

A week at Oak Hollow.

AI takes the steps. The parents keep the decisions. Here’s what that looks like Sunday to Saturday.

Sunday

7:00 pm

The Sunday brief lands, with a warning.

The Weekly Dashboard pulls 23 events from five calendars and flags trouble early: Marcus’s Wednesday shift lands on the 15-year-old’s school night. Three things need a parent’s OK.

Monday

8:15 am

Groceries, sorted.

Five dinners planned around soccer nights. The list comes back by store section with nut-free swaps, and a parent sends it to the house manager.

Wednesday

Noon

“We need to go.” The permission slip is ready.

The field trip form came in Tuesday. AI already drafted it from the wiki, so it’s one tap to sign.

Thursday

4:30 pm

A receipt, snapped and gone.

A photo from the pediatric dentist gets read, logged under Medical, and filed in Receipts / 2026. Nothing left to do.

Saturday

10:30 am

The 3-year-old’s party, mostly planned before anyone thought about it.

Timeline, nut-free menu, and goodie bag list were drafted two weeks out. The parents picked the theme and approved the invites. Today they mostly just show up.
